Installing the XRT Heat Exchanger on my 2019 KTM 300XC and Timbersled Riot3 Pro. The process is pretty straight forward though it does requires a willingness to disassemble your kit a bit and drill some holes. Overall it was easier than first anticipated. Stay tuned for first ride tests of this cool new product. #XRT #heatexchanger #snowbike

Great trails and riding. Love the commentary throughout. Camping in Steamboat next month and your vid really gave me a great breakdown of some key trails. Won’t be riding them the way that you did, but my buddy likely will. Hopefully not much has changed in 3 years.
Wow man. I so want to try that! Newphs my younger brother! Always innovating, always progressing. Love it! Stay RAD Bro.

Nice and beautifull
Pademelon is now making this. But there are also viscous steerer bearings that you can get to achieve a sleeker look!
Nice interview
I ride at the same altitudes here in Utah. My bike is a 2013 with the 2016 upgraded cylinder and head. I run a 35 pilot , KP2 needle and 160 main for my jetting. Although I did pull my plug after setting that jetting and it looked good, as I'm sure you know, conditions are all over the place in the winter so it's hard to say what's good. Air temps and snow density play a huge role. My EGT has never gone over 1250. While riding level terrain, my EGT is consistently running about 1050. When I have to climb over a peak it will spike into the 1100s and very rarely get to 1250 for just an instant. It sounds like I'm in a good range. I am very curious what needle and position you are running and what main jet?

The real test would be in the springtime with warmer temps and, lower snow conditions!
Agreed. I can attest that it performs. Super hard pack roads or snow you may need scratchers. But 99% of my riding it works awesome
Awesome Vid Trevyn!
Thanks! Been fun getting some new riders introduced to the sport this winter.
You’re intros and music are on point
Awesome pull T🤙
Super fun trail on my motorcycle.Might have to try it on my MTB.
My buddy and I are going out there on Wednesday thanks for the update 😀
Killer video man!
How do you setup your bikes? Is the track parallel to the ground when lifting from the back or the back end is raised a tad? How about Tss pressures? I too am a shorter build and feel like I need to try something to make it more playful
What kit are u running? I tend to follow the Timbersled recommendations for strut length. If you want less ski pressure or more playfulness you can shorten it a little but not too much. It goes a long ways. Tss pressures can vary. Are you running the new QSL version? What is your fork setup? Play with the heights and rebound speed(faster) for a more playful ride.
@@TrevynNewpherits a 2020 riot 120LE, with the original non qsl version tss. Last year was my first on a snowbike and did not want to mess with too many changes as I was learning. I realised later on, the setup from the past owner was probably not ideal. The track was touching at the back and the front was still probably 5/8s up. It was a pain to stay on the bike when moving at a crawl. There was too much ski pressure. I think I will give it a go with the track level to the ground and about 350psi in the chamber. When pressing on the fender, there is still about half an inch of travel on the tss. I also am trying 0.70 springs on the xplor forks instead of the stock ones. Thanks
I have a 23 husqvarna tx300. I want one of these kits. I live in CT though and it doesnt snow too much anymore, I would have to go up north.
Nice. They are super fun. A 120 model would work well I would think for your snow pack and elevations.
Any comments on how you mounted Dave's coolant bottle? I wish your video showed more of that. That seems like the trickiest part to me.
I just ran a big zip tie around it and the louver. I had a shield(plastic material) between the two so snow wouldn’t be hitting the coolant bottle also.
Love these 350s!
So sick! Great video.
Thanks Bud!
does de auto-focus works good for tracking?
Really depends on the settings and the environment and lighting. I've learned how to use the camera better now and it's adequate the majority of the time. I will say the bit I have used a Sony A7siii or A4
What intakes you guys find work best on the 300?
I like the PST intake
@@TrevynNewpher any problems with snow ingestion?
@@dirtastegoodI disassemble my airbox to help evacuate snow better. I haven’t had issues with snow ingestion. Bike breaths well even on the deepest days. Make sure your pre filters are kept fresh and tear free. I did have a day last winter where conditions were extremely humid and an ice layer built up on the filter causing the bike to not run properly. Very unique conditions though. After ultra deep days I sometimes like to change my oil just to make sure no excessive moisture is sitting in the motor.
Huge fan, i've run a TE300 for the past 2 seasons and i'm just getting my kit ready so I can bolt it on as soon as we have snow!
My motors have just been freshened up and I’m ready to assemble here soon too! 🤙
@@TrevynNewpher Nice, where are you? I'm in BC (Pemberton/Whistler)...should ride together this season!
I'm in Colorado. A bit far from BC but I definitely have BC on my list @@letsdosomevideo
Is the 10lb of weight savings worth the 6-8hp loss vs the 450 4strokes?
It’s more than just a lighter bike. Less rotational mass in the motor makes for a much more maneuverable machine and the power delivery is explosive and fun.
Wow am going to have to look into this! I just got an Xcw
Looks awesome. I'd like to build a yz250 snowbike. Are you finding jetting the carb a pain? or can your stick to the same setup for most of your ride? I would likley be riding 6K to 10K range....
Personally I run the same jetting winter and summer. I don't touch it once I have found the proper settings for my elevations. In the summer the air density is lower and I generally ride at lower elevations. In the winter the air density is higher and I usually ride at higher elevations. If I drop below 5k feet I sometimes will mess with it. but I find my settings work well for 5k-12k summer and winter usually.
So sick! Yall make it look easy haha.
More and more your videos make me want to get a sled kit for my 300

Yes
Might head up to Sandwash soon. We should team up for a ride!

Nice to see some Forward thinking content for Snowbike’s!. What’s the situation as far as mounting gas cans, gas bags, pelican cases and things like that on the tunnel? Does that area of the tunnel need to be kept clear of any bolt on items?thanks
Accessories that bolt down through the tunnel have to be strategic. XRT does make different shape and type exchangers to try to work with your accessories. They also make stand offs to allow for some clearance for fasteners. I choose to mount my accessories from the sides of the tunnel. Most of the timbersled brand accessories mount from the sides.
What size kite were you using?
8m
Yes!! 👊🏼
What's your jetting? I used my mountain needle from Jeff Slavens a few days and he told me he was very surprised I didn't seize my motor. It ran great. I changed to a K pos 2 and lost power. I'm not sure where to go next. Was thinking L pos 3. The jets are 35 and 155. Altitude: 7-10.5k.
I’m using Mikuni jets. I tried the JD kit but went back to Mikuni. Ktm Needle - 42-75 top clip Main - 400 Pilot - 22.5 I run the same summer and winter. Higher elevations and denser air in the winter, lower elevations and less dense air in the summer. Seems to work great.
Incredible. My favorite video you’ve made yet. 🤩 ❄️🐬
Ahh… thanks Halea! 🤗
Sick video! Well done sir!
Thanks Jarred!
Great footage, cant believe how light your frontend gets! Im sold on this kit on my YZ250. At the end of this vid is a yz250 on a yeti. Is there any details or video of this bike? thx keep m comin!

Would you recommend the 300 or should I get a 450 for back country?
Are you using the same bike for summer and winter? If so, what type of riding do you do in the summer? How experienced are you at efficiently working a transmission and riding a moto?
Is this steamboat trace trail?
I couldn't stop giggling. Looks like a blast.
Do you recall what size main jet you are running? I’m running the same setup as you and feel like my jetting is off a bit up top. Great vid, love hearing the 2 strokes sing!
Needle - 42-75 top clip Main - 400 Pilot - 22.5
Wow, I must be way off then. I’m way richer than that. I would have thought that would be way to lean for the main, but your bike sounds super clean so can’t argue with the results.
@@ryanshanks2136 I ride at 8-11k feet generally. Though I’ve ridden as low as 6k. In the summer i run the same. My egt has never gone over 1,200°
@@ryanshanks2136 also make sure to do the Jarvis mods to the mikuni carb
I did the Jarvis mods already. I run around 5000-6000ft and was running a 480 main because I didn’t want to be too lean, it had a 460 in it for a summer setting at 2000ft. I could tell it was really rich from upper mid to top end. I ran a smartcarb before and it ran good at times but was unreliable as it would flood out the bike a lot and leave me stranded in tough spots, so I’m just gonna try to make the mikuni work.
Beautiful! Nice snow! Where are you riding and what kit is it?
Thanks! This is near Steamboat Springs, CO. 2019 KTM300xc and a 2023 Timbersled RIOT3 Pro
After speaking with Barney, the owner and creator of this bike I am really thinking about getting one. Seems great on paper! But that doesn't always translate into real world results. With you having been able ride both the gnar bike and your Timbersled. Can you give us any real world comparisons?
I like how maneuverable the gnarbike is. it's the tightest turning and most nimble snowbike I have ridden. It can be a handful in steep gnarly terrain as it will loop over pretty easy. Especially his short track version. I would like his setup to be narrower as well. Timbersled feels familiar and I like being able to convert in the summer back to tires. If I had excess money I would certainly consider having one of his bikes. With some clean finish work and other refinements it could be a really sweet setup for sure. Opening doors that traditional snow bikes dream of.
sweeeeeet
🤙
Hey T man, are you running a chest mount for your GoPro?
under visor mount typically. that's where this is shot
Totally captured the experience!!! Even the spill. Makes me want to get in. Thank you!
KTM 300 is awesome but as a snow bike I’m not convinced. It just doesn’t have the go of a 450f
Definitely depends on how the bike is setup. My 300 out pulls most 450s I’ve ridden. Have to shift more often but it’s definitely more fun than a 450 IMO
